The Problem
The readiness gap is real — and it shapes both child safety and access to opportunity.
Whether the digital world becomes a risk or an opportunity is shaped by whether their parents have the knowledge and tools to guide them. The research is clear — children whose parents engage actively develop stronger critical thinking, navigate more safely, and are better positioned to benefit as learners. AI is the sharpest edge of this: the newest, fastest-moving part of children's digital lives, and the place parents feel least equipped.
The challenge is that this readiness isn't evenly distributed. Higher-income, more educated parents are twice as likely to have received AI training. Without intentional investment, the readiness gap will follow the same trajectory as every gap before it — widening fastest among the children who can least afford it.

What We're Working On Right Now
Before we build at scale, we're listening.
We're starting by mapping where the family support field stands on helping parents raise young children ready for a digital age. Over the coming months, TinyMoves — with our implementation partners — will survey programs across the country and talk with network and program leaders, to understand what parents are asking about, what practitioners are already doing, and where the field is ready to act. The goal is to replace assumptions with the field's own voice and build a shared baseline the whole field can move on.
